As a rule of thumb, allow roughly 60 cm of table edge per adult. A 2 m × 2 m sukkah seats 4–6 comfortably; 3 m × 3 m suits 8–10. If you're unsure, the Sukkah Finder will recommend a size based on your space and family size.
Yes — our sukkahs are designed to meet halachic requirements. Our schach (bamboo poles and mats) is suitable for use as kosher schach. If you have a specific shailah about your setup, ask your rav or call us and we'll help with the practical details.
Schach is the roof covering of the sukkah — it must be made from something that grew from the ground and is no longer attached. We sell both bamboo poles and bamboo mats. Poles give a more traditional look and allow more light in; mats are faster to lay and give denser cover. Both are widely accepted.
Yes — we have display sukkahs assembled at our showrooms. Our Golders Green location (Felsenstein Hall, 173 Golders Green Rd, NW11 9BY) is our main showroom. Call 0203 011 0338 to confirm opening hours before visiting.
Sukkah construction
Most of our sukkahs go up in 30–60 minutes with two people and no special tools. Every sukkah ships with illustrated instructions — see our assembly guides and videos — and frames are colour-coded or numbered so repeat years are even quicker.
The Deluxe and Super Sukkahs cannot be joined together. The Hard Wall Sukkah is modular and can be made to any size you need — each panel is either 1 or 2 metres wide. Send us a message for a custom size.
The Deluxe and Super Sukkahs cannot be extended. The Hard Wall Sukkah can be extended in future years by purchasing an extension kit — available in-store at our Golders Green, Stamford Hill, and Manchester main branches.
The door on the Deluxe and Super Sukkahs cannot be moved — it is always next to the corner on the right of the longest side. The door of the Hard Wall Sukkah can be placed anywhere in the sukkah, though we recommend keeping it next to a corner for strength.
Any sukkah can be placed flush against a wall. However, if you are using a rain roof, the roof juts out 25 cm beyond the side walls of the sukkah. Hard Wall Sukkahs can also be attached to a wall with a bracket for extra strength.
Sukkahs should be placed in a yard which protects them from strong winds. Out in an open area, wind can blow a sukkah over — especially with a rain roof on. If you are planning to put a sukkah in an open area, we recommend the Super Sukkah, weighed down with sandbags on the bottom bars.
Rain roofs cannot be joined together, as they overlap over the sides of the sukkah.
Rain roofs are made in four standard sizes to fit SukkahMart sukkahs. They can be adjusted slightly smaller — approximately 50 cm, both lengthways and widthways — but cannot be made bigger.
Yes, provided the size is correct. You will need additional brackets, and the sukkah must be strong enough to hold the roof.
If permanent schach is too big, it can either overlap another piece of schach or stick out of the sukkah. To fit a tight space it can be cut down widthways, but not lengthways. For example, a 1.6 m × 3 m roll can be cut to 1.2 m × 3 m. If the length is too long, simply fold it back over itself to double up.
Storage
Our sukkahs pack down flat. View the product storage chart (PDF) or the weights & dimensions page for the packed size of every product.
Our sukkahs pack flat and store in a garage, loft, or shed with no problem. Keep the fabric walls dry to prevent mildew, and store the frame in its original bags or tied bundles. Most customers find the second year's assembly takes under 20 minutes once they know the system.
Ordering & delivery
For local deliveries (London and Manchester) we accept orders right up until Sukkot. For anywhere else in the UK, please allow up to 4 days before Sukkot, and for international orders up to one week. Popular sizes sell out early, so ordering sooner is always safer — and if you're unsure, please call us on 0203 011 0338 or contact us here.
Sukkahs are shipped from mid-September onwards in the run-up to the festival, usually on a first come, first served basis. Depending on the number of orders it typically takes 2–3 days to be dispatched. See the delivery page for coverage and timings.
We deliver to most of the UK. See the delivery page for coverage areas and pricing. If your postcode isn't covered by standard shipping, use our shipping quote form — we ship internationally and can usually arrange something.
Yes — choose Click & Collect at checkout to pick up from one of our locations. We have collection points in Golders Green, Stamford Hill, and Manchester (Salford). See the store locator for addresses and directions.
On delivery day, once your order is loaded onto the van you'll receive an SMS text (where a mobile number is provided) letting you know it's on the way, with a live link to track the driver.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay at checkout. International customers outside standard delivery zones can request a custom shipping quote, which is invoiced separately once agreed.
Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Lulav and etrog sets are perishable and cannot be returned, but if a set arrives damaged we will replace it. See our terms of service for full details.
Yes — we offer a professional assembly service during the Sukkot season: our team delivers and builds the sukkah for you. It's subject to availability in your area and must be arranged at the time of ordering — add it at checkout, or contact us / call 0203 011 0338 to check availability.
